Refund Policy

This Refund Policy explains when you are (and aren't) entitled to a refund for services provided by Source Code Development. It forms part of our Terms of Use and applies to all project work unless a written service agreement says otherwise.

The short version: custom software is not like a shelf product. Once we've done the work — or you've approved a phase of it — the time and effort are committed and refunds generally don't apply. Where something is genuinely wrong, we'd much rather fix it than argue about it.

Our work is tailored to your specific requirements. Because each project is bespoke, services that have already been performed are non-refundable — including completed and approved deliverables, regardless of whether you later decide the project doesn't fit your needs.

This is why we work in short, visible increments: you approve each phase as it's built, so you're never paying for work you haven't seen.

Projects are typically structured with milestone-based payments, with each payment tied to the completion and approval of a specific project phase (see our Terms of Use, section 3).

• You review each milestone before it is billed, so approval is informed.
• Once a milestone is approved and payment is made, that payment is non-refundable.
• If you identify issues during review, we address them before the milestone is billed — that's the right time to raise concerns.

A deposit or project commencement fee may be required before work begins, as specified in your proposal. It reserves your slot in our schedule and covers the scoping, planning and setup work performed up front.

Once work has commenced, the deposit is non-refundable. If you cancel before work begins, we will refund any deposit in full.

You may terminate a project at any time, in line with your service agreement.

• You are responsible for payment for all work performed up to the date of termination, including approved milestones.
• If the amount you have paid exceeds the value of the work performed to date, we may, at our discretion, offer a partial refund of the difference.
• Work not yet performed against unapproved milestones is not billed.

Where a refund is approved, it will be issued to the original payment method (or a bank account of your choosing where payment was made by transfer) within a reasonable period, typically 10–15 business days.

Refunds are calculated against the value of work delivered, not the original project value, and any outstanding amounts will be deducted first.

We take client satisfaction seriously and would always prefer to resolve a problem than refuse a refund. If you are dissatisfied with any part of our service:

• Contact us as soon as the issue arises — don't wait.
• Describe the issue clearly, with examples or screenshots where helpful.
• We will investigate and make every reasonable effort to fix the issue, adjust the work, or agree a fair resolution.

We respond to all refund and dispute enquiries within a few business days.
